Boulder Attorney & Lawyer, Chris Jeffers

Christopher C. Jeffers, Attorney & P.C.

Chris has practiced law in Boulder, Colorado since 1990. In 1981, he received his BA in English from Wesleyan University and his jurist doctorate (JD) from the Fleming Law School at the University of Colorado in 1987.

Chris has presented continuing legal education seminars in the following areas: sexual abuse of children, protection orders, custody decision making, custody rights for non-parents (such as grandparents), and protection order / restraining order.

Several community organizations refer domestic violence fictions to Chris for protection order, divorce, and parenting cases.

Although he practices less frequently in these areas, Chris has an extensive background in civil litigation and criminal defense. He has tried numerous criminal and civil jury trials and assisted several hundred clients in obtaining protection orders. He has also defended many protection order cases successfully. Chris has represented over 500 clients in contested court hearings.

In addition to years of mediation experience, Chris has recently completed a 40 hr training course in high conflict mediation.

Sally Jowell, Paralegal

Originally from New Hampshire, Sally Jowell moved to the beautiful Colorado Mountains in 1980. She is a mother to five children and a grandmother to four grandchildren.

Sally graduated high in her paralegal class in 1991. While her children were young, Sally worked as a freelance paralegal in various legal fields. She began working as a full time paralegal in 2008.

Having raised 5 children of her own and going through a divorce in 2005, she found that Family Law was a natural fit. Sally understands all too well the tribulations a divorce can cause in a family’s life, and approaches her work with compassion and empathy. Sally greets every client with a smile, and has received accolades year after year for her tremendous customer service skills.

In her spare time, Sally enjoys making jewelry as well as crafting with her 13 year old son and granddaughters. She is also a talented seamstress. While in her twenties, she worked as a hairdresser and still enjoys cutting and coloring hair.

Client Testimonies

  • I thank you very much for all of your advice and support in this matter. Your advice has been priceless and your ability to put together court responses, unique. I feel like a cloud has been lifted.

  • Chris was very professional and knowledgeable during a very difficult divorce. He is very intelligent and made sure I understood the process and the pros and cons of all decisions both from a relational and financial perspective. Despite his efforts to settle out of court, a couple of times we did end up in court and he said just the right thing to benefit our case. At times, the emotions ran high but he was calm and reassuring. He was great.

  • I hired Chris upon the recommendation of a business associate and was very pleased at his ability to help me navigate the rough seas of the divorce process. I was bound and determined at the outset of this process, not to have lawyers involved in my personal affairs, but, as so often happens in these situations, two parties come to a point where they can't agree and chaos ensues. I am pleased at how Chris helped me sort through the many issues and details of the process. He has many years experience in this work and was willing to work with me on a reasonable payment plan that kept my finances in tact through this chapter of my life.
